Mission

What is
Lotvela

At Lotvela, we find producers in the quiet weeks between their big orders. If that brings better terms, you'll see them in a dated, written offer.

    The producer

It starts on the ground in Gaziantep.

No fixed list: we approach the producers that fit your brief, in Gaziantep and across Türkiye — then visit, check the papers and write down what we saw, and when.

    What is Lotvela?

Lotvela is a sourcing intermediary in Gaziantep, Türkiye. We connect food buyers abroad with Turkish producers: you send a brief, we approach the producers that fit it, check them and send you a dated shortlist to compare. We are not a trader. The producer sells to you and ships to you.

    What does it cost me?

Nothing. Sending a brief is free and does not commit you to anything. If you order, the producer pays Lotvela a commission; you pay the producer directly, at the price in their written offer.

How do you find and check producers?

There is no fixed list: we approach the producers that fit your brief, in Gaziantep and across Türkiye. Before a producer goes on your shortlist we check product fit, a free production window, their export record and their documents, such as BRC, IFS or Halal certificates where they hold them. We visit where we can, and write down what we saw and when.

What does the shortlist look like?

We aim for three to five producers in the same columns: product and specification, certificates, capacity, export record, and lead time and price once the producer has confirmed them. Every line is dated and marked confirmed or not confirmed, so you can see what is still open.

Why would a producer offer better terms?

Producers have quiet weeks between large orders, when a line would otherwise stand still. We look for producers with such a window for your product. If that brings better terms, you will see them in the producer's written offer; we never promise a price before the producer confirms it.

Who do I pay, and who ships?

You pay the producer directly; your money never passes through Lotvela. The producer invoices you, exports the goods and provides the shipping documents: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and a health certificate where your market requires one. Routes and transit times are confirmed per shipment.

Can a producer make it under my brand?

Yes, you can ask for private label in your brief: your brand, packaging and labels. Whether a producer can do it, and from what quantity, is confirmed per producer in their offer.

    Who runs Lotvela?

Ömer Faruk Erdoğan, from Gaziantep. He also runs Glorvia, a fashion house that makes bridal and evening dresses to order in its own Gaziantep workshop and sells them in Türkiye and abroad, through Glorvia Inc. in Halifax, Canada, for North America. So he knows the producer's side of an order from abroad: a production slot, a written specification, and documents that have to be right before anything ships. Lotvela brings that to food, from the city of Antep pistachio, bulgur and baklava. It is run as his sole proprietorship in Türkiye and, for buyers in North America, by Glorvia Inc.
